SFER NC seeks to reform career status policies in a way that raises regard for the profession by offering career status to only those teachers who display the following: (1) long-term, sustained excellence in student achievement; (2) high marks in subjective measures including student, peer and administrator evaluations; and (3) school and community contributions. We believe that career status should be subject to regular re-evaluation.
